Although this year’s celebration is not the same as before, the ‘Merdeka’ spirit in us undoubtedly remains strong.

Despite the current pandemic and everything else that 2020 has thrown at us, we saw Malaysians from all backgrounds, regardless of race, religion, and creed, come together and do their best in bringing up Malaysia to where it is now.

After six decades of independence, it is no surprise that the word ‘Merdeka’ now carries many different meanings that are unique to each Malaysian.

We asked our members at PRCA Malaysia what ‘Merdeka’ truly means for them. Prof. Mohd. Said Bani of bzBee Consult and Thong Kok Wah of Integrated PR were glad to share their thoughts with us.
